Tell of God's Work is a site where you can order beautiful cards and prints and more! The site is still somewhat under construction, but there are some very nice things to order. Any of the Scripture is done in the KJV version. Check out the site and get ready to order a nice Mother's Day Card!
Reading and knowing about the Jewish Holocaust is one of my favorite things to do. I love to hear testimonies from some of these survivors and am often searching on youtube. This one was found today and was very special. I just wanted to share it. This woman shares how she found the Messiah after all the hate she experienced and the after the hatred that filled her heart. She was miraculously changed!
It is always interesting to read biographies about hymn writers. You can read about many of them on Wholesome Words, which is a great site for many different resources. This morning I was reading about James McGranahan, a gospel song and hymn writer. It gave reference to him being found in the book "Biography of Gospel Song and Hymn Writers. Upon looking it up I found I could obtain a free copy. I am excited to read it! You can get a copy HERE!
Sometimes as we walk life's pathway it is hard to understand what the Lord is doing or how He is leading. But we can always be thankful that Our Lord and Savior will always hear, help and heal.
God the king
greatly desires our beauty
not outward beauty, but beauty from within
This beauty will come as we keep God as the Lord of our life
and worship Him.
Exodus 14:10-14 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD. And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
God gave me two reminders recently:
1. I was discouraged and told my husband that it did not really matter how much effort I put into regular routine tasks or other tasks such as home improvements or even hobbies. After all I am getting older and who will even care when I am gone. He reminded me that in Ecclesiastes 9:10 it says:
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work,
Yes, it is important that whatever I do I need to do it with all my might and heartily as unto the Lord. He knows, He sees, and He cares. I will have to answer to Him some day for my attitude and my effort.
2. I was irritated with my husband for not straightening up after himself after I spend a lot of time "fixing" things to be just right. I thought he was being inconsiderate. The Lord reprimanded me and reminded me that I need to focus on myself and what changes I need to make. How many time have I irritated him in some way? What is it that I need to change in order to be a better wife, mother, grandmother? May my prayer be each day - Lord change me!
2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory
Well, March has come and gone already! The collage below is our month in review. We enjoyed lots of time with grandkids. Four of them had birthdays this month. Audrey and Addy wanted to go hiking for their birthday so off to Crowder Mtn. we went for a two mile hike to the pinnacle. It was fun, but I sure paid for it for a few days after. Still, I wouldn't trade that time with four of our granddaughters. - Priceless! Kole and Caleb also had a birthday. I got one shot of Kole, but none of Caleb.
Of course we miss our three little munchkins in Brazil so I had to add a picture of them. We like it when they skype with us and we can at least see them for a few minutes.
Mel also took a quick trip to Washington DC to stand up for marriage between one man and one woman. No matter what the world tells us, marriage as God designed it can never be redefined.
And of course, hubby and I enjoyed mountain times - one of our favorite things to do. We actually left on March 30th to enjoy our 36th anniversary which was coming up on April 2nd. We hiked a few of our favorite spots including Tom Creek Falls, and Carver's Gap at Roan Mountain. I sure didn't expect 30 degree weather on Roan Mountain, but I just couldn't resist treking at least part way up the pathway. So slip and slide we did over the snowy icy path. We had a good time, but I would much rather be there in June when the rhododendrons are in bloom. God is so good to us! God is good all the time and we appreciate all the added blessings He sends along our pathway.
